  • Anywhere that you can use a set of ear- or headphones. While on a train or in a bus. While doing chores, driving a car, or performing just about any routine task or exercise that allows you to focus on one thing while you perform another.
  • You can also use speakers while driving on your way to and from work or school, or while sitting in a café and waiting for a friend. But please, be considerate of your neighbors.

  • Watching a video requires both your eyes and ears, while listening to a podcast you can watch the world around you, and your hands are free to perform other tasks. It is a lot like listening to the radio, but you have better control of what you hear.

  • Would you like a home on the internet where you can always obtain quick, reliable answers to your questions?
  • Would you like to become a member of a community that is dedicated to learning English as a second language?
  • Grammar Captive's weekly podcasts are just the beginning of your new adventure in learning.

disclaimer: Grammar Captive is not about magic and deception. Nor, is it about the mindless memorization of poorly understood patterns. Rather, it understands the importance of grammar in the acquisition of a second language and seeks to make the vocabulary of grammar more accessible and usable to advanced second language learners and aspiring teachers. Further, it believes that students are their own best teachers, and that they need only an appropriate understanding of language in general, the grammar of each language in specific, and the mastery of a few simple learning techniques to teach themselves. Accordingly, Grammar Captive is here to help you become just a little, and hopefully a whole lot, better at being both a teacher and student of yourself and others.
